The final tranche of $600 and $1,100 incentive checks will be issued to select qualified and eligible Americans over the next two days.
Stimulus Checks for Some Americans
In a recently published article in the American sun, on January 11, the final distribution of aid will be made to qualified residents of the United States. More than 180,000 checks totaling $127 million are now being delivered to California citizens. Low-income families affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic will be given incentives.
COVID-19 relief was provided by California Governor Gavin Newsom at a cost of $12 billion. Until January 11, 2022, payments were first made in October 2021. This is the last batch of checks that will be sent, and they will go to people in the 928-999 zip code region who qualify.
The incentive checks were sent out on December 27, 2021, but the IRS advised customers who received a paper check to expect it to take up to three weeks.
Are you qualified?
To qualify, your CA AGI (the California version of gross income) must be between $1 and $75,000. California AGI includes salaries and income from employment, tips, interest, dividends, rental income, retirement income, and gains on real estate sales.
You will not get a payout if your main source of income is Social Security.
Certain Social Security recipients who also receive income from other sources may qualify. In addition, you must legally reside in California and have filed your 2020 tax return by October 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, most of the direct deposit incentive payments were made between September 1, 2021 and October 31, 2021. In total, 8.5 million GSS II payments have been made by the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB). It can take up to 45 days for your tax return to be completed if you filed it after September 1, 2019.
For a variety of reasons, the California Franchise Tax Board said it now goes through a limited number of tax returns to ensure they qualify. In addition, ITIN filers have until February 15, 2022 to file their state returns to be eligible for GSS II.
